Getting Started

Everything you need to set up Claude and start using it — whether you're a developer or not.

1. Create your Anthropic account

Go to claude.ai and sign up with your email or Google account. This gives you access to Claude in the browser immediately.

2. Choose a plan

Free

Limited messages per day. Good for trying Claude out.

Pro — $20/month

More messages, access to Claude's most capable models, and priority access during high-traffic periods. Includes Claude Cowork.

Max — $100/month

Highest usage limits, longest conversations, and the most capable models. Best for heavy daily use.

For most people, Pro is the best value. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

3. Install your tools

Depending on what you want to do, you may only need the browser — or you may want to install additional tools.

claude.ai (browser)

No installation needed. Chat with Claude, upload files, and get answers right in your browser.

Claude Cowork (desktop)

Download the Claude Desktop app for macOS or Windows. Cowork can read files on your computer, work in the background, and handle multi-step tasks autonomously. Requires a Pro or Max plan.

Claude Code (terminal)

For developers. Install via curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash and run claude in any project directory. Requires a Pro or Max plan.
